Why does the stereotype that black men are obsessed with white women persist?
Black men only date white women because white women are the only option besides black women they tend to have. I myself cannot name a black man obsessed with white women. Most of the black men in my family who married white women divorced them and married another race. In the west coast black men tend to prefer latin women or sometimes an asian woman when they don't date black women. What I also wonder is why the other non-white men are not stereotyped as white washed. Asian men often have a strong preference for white women and so do many latin men. I know not all of them are but a great deal. I've even heard asian men tell me they believed dating and marrying a white woman was an accomplishment but not one black man has said this. Why does this stereotype continue when the truth is in plain sight. It certainly doesn't help white men or anyone else.
I know it's wrong ot stereotype but I have met some asian guys that are like that
I agree, people always assume Black guys want only White girls, you even see it in the media. I'm sure there is still way more Black and Black couples. It's the same thing as saying White men and Asian women couples persists, when there are more Asian and Asian couples.
As an Asian guy, I don't see being with a White woman as a accomplishment, since I like different kinds of women. I think marrying a woman and having children is success.
