I want to get from Nantes FR to Alicante SP by coach or train?
Does anyone know what website I could use to organise this? I know of Eurolines for the coach, but I would like other suggestions if possible as Eurolines don't have the dates I'd like. Also does anyone know any websites I could use for the train? I've searched online but a lot of my results are from UK and I need to begin my journey in France so I guess I might need a French company.

For train times, look up the German Railways timetable site at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/ - there are various routes possible, but all will take over 24 hours to complete the journey, and will involve an overnight stop probably in Madrid or Barcelona.
If you want to look at the actual railways sites, try http://www.sncf.com/ and http://www.renfe.es/ - though the SNCF site is a pig to use as they use lots of different brand names for their services with no indication of what they actually are! On the RENFE site, Alicante is "Alacant-Terminal". Both SNCF and RENFE sites will tend to try to direct you to the overnight "Ellipsos" train-hotel service between Paris and Madrid or Barcelona, but it's not necessary to travel via Paris - you can use the intercity service from Nantes to Bordeaux, then local trains to the border at Hendaye/Irun, then switch to Spanish trains to Madrid and on to Alicante.
